The obligatory bullfight. It was actually raining slightly, hence the yellow rainjackets adding color. A lumberjack in South America
Straddling the hemispheres. Oh yeah, I blend. A popular market in Otavalo.
The llamas were wild in the streets of the city. Or were they alpacas? Okay, okay, this was a national park. You could faint from oxygen deprivation if you tried to walk at a 'normal' pace on Mt. Cotopaxi --- sitting was much safer. Rising to 19,347 feet, Cotopaxi is the world's highest continuously active volcano.
Like many European cities, the city was founded long before the automobile, resulting in narrow streets. The countryside was beautiful.
Quito is in a valley, leading to very dense modern development. Another view of the city with a mountinous backdrop.
